MUSICAL COMBO CLASSES
AT 'TOCART SCHOOL' IN LA VERNEDA, BARCELONA

Regular combo classes recreate an ensemble or instrumental ensemble, represented by various musicians and instrumentalists who make up a music group. ​

 

It is the opportunity to learn and put into practice knowledge of musical language and instrument: technique, reading, improvisation, hearing, repertoire and musical memory.

BRAZIL COMBO

Our Combo Brasil class is made up of percussionists, guitar, bass, transverse flute, saxophone and voice. Being able to add a piano, other wind instruments, several voices and others. And we interpret songs of different styles from Brazil such as Bossa nova, Samba rock, Axé, Yiexá, Forró… ​

LATIN COMBO

In the Latin Combo class we interpret songs from the Spanish rumba and different styles of Afro-Latin culture, such as Cuban son, cumbia, merengue... And it is made up of percussionists, guitar, bass and voice. Being able to add a piano, other wind instruments, several voices and others.

OBJECTIVES:

• Group classes.

​

• How to play with more musicians.

​

• Learn to listen, not only to yourself, but also to others.

​

• Sheet music reading.

​

• Role played by each member within the formation.

​

• Song structure.

​

• rhythmic patterns.

​

• Sound.

​

• Improvisation. Creation of the solo

​

• Repertoire of themes of the combo musical culture (Brazil or Meztization).

​

CLASS FEATURES:

• Focused on students of initial and intermediate level.

​

• Adult classes.

​

• Regular weekly classes of 1 hour and 30 minutes.

​

​

 

We offer a performance of the combos in the quarterly weekend stages offered by the Tocart School,in a rural setting .

In this outing we get together and share with the students of the different disciplines of the school (batucada, flamenco cajón, Latin percussion, African percussion and Iberian percussion).
